Yakishime "YOUHEN" Katakuchi 窯変片口
Introducing the Japanese Katakuchi, a beautifully crafted pouring bowl with a rich cultural heritage. The katakuchi is a versatile and essential piece which can be used for practical use, but also its value as a stunning centerpiece, showcasing the timeless aesthetics of traditional Japanese pottery.
Through the craft of the artisans, each katakuchi is unique, featuring a distinctive silhouette and subtle variations in glaze and finish. The gently sloping sides and wide mouth allow for precise pouring of sake, or any other beverages.
"YOUHEN" is Natural ash glaze. Literally means "changed by the fire/flame." Youhen refers to changes in the kiln that cause the glaze to run during firing.
Because of their handmade quality, these bowls are not suitable for the microwave or dishwasher and should be rinsed and thoroughly dried immediately after use.
